Anna was born and raised in England and has loved drawing and art since early childhood. She emigrated to New Zealand in 2001 with her husband and three children to a farm in South Canterbury.
She is a member of the South Canterbury Art Society and the Ashburton Society of Arts and has completed a Diploma in Level 5. She has attended various courses taken by established artists who inspire her.
She paint in oils, acrylics and charcoal but predominantly watercolours as she loves the unpredictability of this medium. It can be both challenging and rewarding. She is captivated by light and colour and would describe her style as a mixture of realism, impressionism and expressionism.
You can find examples of her work in the UK, Australia, Spain, South Africa and of course here in New Zealand. She has been fortunate enough to be the recipient of the Trust Aoraki Art Supreme Award in 2010 and the Watercolour award in 2016 for the South Canterbury Arts Society.
Her aim is to capture light and atmosphere in her work and when doing a portrait to capture the essence of the person or pet.
